Important: Driving License Requirements in Thailand
To legally ride a scooter or motorbike in Thailand, you are required to have an international driving permit (IDP) that includes motorcycle entitlement. This document can be easily obtained in your home country – for example, in Europe, it usually costs only a few euros and takes a few minutes at your local licensing office.
Although rental shops rarely ask for a license, please be aware:
In case of an accident or police check, you may be asked to show it, and without it, you might be held fully responsible or even fined.
Also note:
In Thailand, even small scooters are considered motorcycles (not just mopeds), so a car license alone is not enough.
️ Damage & Deposit Policy
Our rental bikes come with basic insurance that covers only medical emergency transport, but does NOT cover damages to the bike or accidents you cause.
This is standard across Thailand — most rental shops just don’t tell you upfront.
Deposit options:
The deposit is fully refunded when the scooter is returned in the same condition as it was rented out.
