What to Expect
After a scenic 20-minute drive from Krabi town or Ao Nang, you’ll arrive at the quiet and picturesque Thalane Bay. At the private kayak pier, enjoy a cup of coffee and meet your experienced guide, who will prepare the gear and check the tides before giving a short safety briefing.
Once on the water, begin paddling across the bay and into the shaded mangrove forest. Navigate narrow channels, weave past tangled roots and glide beneath towering limestone cliffs. Some formations even hold ancient paintings believed to be created by sea gypsies who once lived in the region.
Throughout the route, your guide will share insights about the area's biodiversity. This region is home to playful monkeys, gibbons, shy otters, and if you’re lucky, a water monitor lizard lounging by the banks. You’ll pass through a stunning cave with stalactites and stalagmites – locally known as "Crocodile Cave" – where nature sparks the imagination.
The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful. Often, all you hear is the rustle of mangrove leaves or the distant hum of insects. It’s a perfect place to disconnect and truly appreciate Thailand’s raw natural beauty.
The final stretch of the trip passes through a hidden lagoon surrounded by dramatic karst scenery – so cinematic, it has even served as a filming location for movies.
