Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your complete 17-day Thailand group journey, from arrival to departure
Arrival in Bangkok
Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand's vibrant capital. After arrival, you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel. The rest of the day is designed for rest and recovery after your international journey. In the evening, we will briefly review the upcoming programme together, so everyone feels prepared for the days ahead.
Bangkok City Highlights: Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun & Chao Phraya River
After breakfast, we begin exploring Bangkok's most important cultural landmarks. The day starts with the Grand Palace, one of Thailand's most iconic architectural and spiritual sites, home to the revered Emerald Buddha. We then continue to Wat Pho, famous for its impressive Reclining Buddha and its important role in the history of traditional Thai massage. In the afternoon, we experience Bangkok from the water with a boat journey on the Chao Phraya River before visiting Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn. In the evening, guests may join an optional rooftop bar experience to enjoy the lights of Bangkok from above. Lunch included.
Flight to Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand
Today we fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, the cultural heart of Northern Thailand. After the intensity of Bangkok, Chiang Mai offers a slower rhythm, a greener setting and a deeply spiritual atmosphere, with hundreds of Buddhist temples across the city. In the evening, we explore the flavours of Northern Thailand at a local night market, where guests can discover Thai street food, from mango sticky rice to classic pad thai and regional specialities.
Karen Village, Doi Suthep, Wat Pha Lat & the Monk's Trail
The day begins with a visit to a Karen village, where guests can learn about the traditions of the long-neck Karen community. We then continue to one of Chiang Mai's most important spiritual landmarks: Doi Suthep. Located on a mountain above the city, this golden temple complex offers not only impressive architecture and atmosphere, but also panoramic views over Chiang Mai. Our next stop is Wat Pha Lat, a peaceful forest temple reached via the Monk's Trail. Surrounded by greenery, stone pathways and quiet details, it offers a more intimate and contemplative side of Chiang Mai's temple culture.
Doi Inthanon National Park, Twin Pagodas, Waterfalls & Mountain Landscapes
This is a day dedicated to mountains, forests and panoramic views. Doi Inthanon National Park is home to Thailand's highest point, beautiful nature trails, waterfalls and the famous twin pagodas set among the clouds. We walk through atmospheric forest landscapes filled with moss, ferns and mountain greenery, then visit Wachirathan Waterfall and continue to the dramatic rock scenery of Pha Chor Canyon. Lunch included.
Chiang Mai at Your Own Pace and Elephant Sanctuary
After several active days, this day allows you to enjoy Chiang Mai more slowly. You may explore local markets, visit additional temples, browse artisan shops, enjoy a Thai massage, relax at a café or simply take time to rest. Guests who would like to experience an ethical elephant encounter may join an optional visit to a responsible elephant sanctuary, where elephants can be observed and cared for in a more natural environment.
Chiang Rai: White Temple, Blue Temple, Big Buddha & Lalitta Café
Early in the morning, we travel by bus to Chiang Rai, a quieter and more traditional region in Northern Thailand. The day is dedicated to some of the area's most striking landmarks. We visit the famous White Temple, the Blue Temple, the impressive large white Buddha statue and Lalitta Café, a beautifully designed garden-style stop that feels almost like a fairytale setting. Chiang Rai is also known as the Thai gateway to the Golden Triangle region, making it a fascinating cultural and geographical addition to the journey. Lunch included.
From Northern Thailand to Koh Chang
Today we leave Northern Thailand behind and begin the island part of the journey. From Chiang Rai, we fly back to Bangkok, then continue by private bus towards Trat province on Thailand's eastern coast. After several rest stops along the way, we reach the pier and take the ferry to Koh Chang. By the evening, we arrive on the island and begin the beach chapter of the trip.
Beach Relaxation on Koh Chang
From this day onwards, the journey slows down into a classic tropical Thailand rhythm: beaches, sunshine, palm trees and sea breeze. Koh Chang is one of Thailand's largest islands and much of its interior is covered by national park. This makes it a beautiful combination of beaches, jungle, waterfalls and viewpoints. Compared with some of Thailand's more crowded southern islands, Koh Chang offers a more relaxed atmosphere while still providing good travel infrastructure.
Optional Boat Trip & Snorkelling Around Koh Chang
Guests who would like to explore Koh Chang from the water may join an optional boat trip to nearby smaller islands. The day can include island hopping, snorkelling, additional beaches and lunch on board or during the excursion, depending on the selected programme. For those who prefer to stay on land, this is also a perfect day to relax by the beach and enjoy the island at your own pace. Optional excursion.
Beach Day, Optional Elephant Sanctuary or Mangrove Kayaking
Today offers another flexible island day. Guests may choose to relax on the beach, explore independently or join one of the optional activities. Koh Chang also offers ethical elephant experiences for those who missed the opportunity in Northern Thailand or would like to repeat it in a different setting. Another option is to discover the island's mangrove forests by kayak, offering a quieter and greener perspective on tropical island life. Whether you spend the whole day on the beach or combine relaxation with an activity, this is another day dedicated to the beauty and ease of Thailand's island lifestyle. Optional activities.
Arrival on Koh Kood
Today we move from Koh Chang to Koh Kood by boat — and arrive in one of Thailand's most beautiful island settings. Koh Kood is known for its white sand, clear turquoise water, coconut palms and peaceful atmosphere. Less developed and less crowded than many better-known Thai islands, it offers a rare sense of quiet tropical simplicity. This island is the perfect finale to the journey: calm, scenic and deeply relaxing.
Koh Kood: Tropical Relaxation
These days are dedicated to pure island relaxation. Koh Kood is the kind of place that often feels almost unreal: white sand, turquoise water, coconut trees and quiet beaches without the heavy development found in many other destinations. There are no large shopping centres, no crowded nightlife streets and no overbuilt beachfronts. The beauty of Koh Kood lies in its simplicity. Here, the main experience is the island itself: swimming, reading under palm trees, drinking fresh coconut water, enjoying slow meals and letting the scenery do the work.
Koh Kood: Pure Island Bliss
Continue to enjoy the serene beauty of Koh Kood. Spend your time swimming in crystal-clear water, walking along quiet beaches, or simply unwinding with a book under the shade of coconut palms. This is a day without schedules — designed for rest, reflection, and soaking in the natural beauty of one of Thailand's most unspoiled islands before the journey home.
Return to Bangkok
In the morning, we leave Koh Kood and travel by boat back to Trat. From there, a private bus takes us back to Bangkok. The journey takes most of the day, with rest stops along the way.
Departure from Bangkok
Transfer to the airport for your international flight home, leaving Thailand with the memories of temples, lanterns, mountains, rivers, beaches and island sunsets.
